I spent a morning trying to find out what the major A/B testing platforms cost in 2026… Four of them wouldn’t tell me – no matter how long I tried to find the information! Hence why this A/B testing platform comparison was written!

Not “contact us for volume pricing”. No number at all, anywhere, for any tier. VWO, Optimizely and AB Tasty all run pricing pages with feature tables, support SLAs and a button that says talk to sales. AB Tasty goes furthest and says it outright: “No fixed plans. Just a custom proposal built around your goals and scope.”

That’s a legitimate way to sell software. It’s also the single biggest thing standing between you and a decision, so the A/B testing platform comparison starts there.

What each platform actually costs

Checked 20 August 2026, from official pricing pages only. Where a vendor publishes nothing, I’ve said so rather than repeating a figure from a review site, because most of those numbers are years out of date.

Platform Published entry price Trial Money back? Best suited to
PageTest.AI $299/mo 5 days 90-day refund Teams who want to start this week
Webflow Optimize From $299/mo, plus a paid Webflow Site plan None published No Sites already built on Webflow
Convert.com $399/mo, or $299 billed annually 15 days No Agencies and privacy-first organisations
Kameleoon $495/mo 30 days No Regulated sectors and EU data residency
VWO Not published 30 days No Teams wanting testing plus heatmaps and recordings
AB Tasty Not published No trial. 1 to 2 week proof of concept instead No Mid-market and enterprise personalization
Optimizely Not published By request only No Enterprise programmes with engineers
Spiralyze Performance-based, no published fee N/A, it’s an agency No fee until they deliver B2B SaaS wanting it done for them

Why this matters more than the feature lists

Every platform here can run an A/B test. They’ve all got visual editors, statistical engines and integrations. On the core job they’re closer than the marketing suggests.

Where they differ enormously is how long it takes to get from “we should test this” to a live experiment.

On a published-price tool, that’s an afternoon. On a quote-only enterprise platform, you’re looking at a discovery call, a scoping conversation, a proposal, procurement, security review and onboarding. That could actually take up to 3 months!! Meanwhile the headline you wanted to test is still sitting there, untested.

If you have a dedicated experimentation team and a procurement process, that timeline is normal and fine. If you’re a marketing team of 4 who just want to find out whether the pricing page works, it’s fatal.

The honest short version

Pick VWO if you want testing, heatmaps, session recordings and surveys in one platform and you’re happy to have the sales conversation. It’s the broadest tool here and its G2 rating (4.4 across 900+ reviews) is well earned. Full comparison.

Pick Convert.com if privacy compliance is a binding constraint. It’s built around GDPR and CCPA in a way the others aren’t, it publishes its prices, and agencies rate it. Full comparison.

Pick Kameleoon if you need EU data residency or HIPAA, or you want the deepest targeting available at a self-serve price. It’s the highest-rated platform in this group at 4.6 on G2. Full comparison.

Pick Webflow Optimize if your site is on Webflow. The native integration and the AI traffic allocation it inherited from Intellimize make it the obvious answer, as long as you’re staying on Webflow. Full comparison.

Pick Optimizely if you’re running a formal experimentation programme with engineers, need server-side testing and feature flags, and have the budget. It’s the most capable platform on this list. Full comparison.

Pick AB Tasty if personalization matters as much as testing and you’re buying for a mid-market or enterprise team. Full comparison.

Pick Spiralyze if you’re B2B SaaS, you’d rather hand the whole thing to an agency, and you want their model where you pay nothing until they deliver a lift. Full comparison.

Pick PageTest.AI if you want to know the price before you commit, start testing this week without a developer, have the AI write your variations, and get your money back if it doesn’t work.

Where we actually fit

We’re not the most capable platform on this page. Optimizely does more. VWO does more. AB Tasty personalises better than we do.

What we do is remove the reasons testing programmes never start.

Most sites aren’t held back by the depth of their testing platform. They’re held back by not having run a test in 6 months, because it needs a developer, or a designer, or a sales call, or a budget approval, or someone to think of what to test in the first place.

PageTest.AI is $299 a month, you can see that before you talk to anyone, the AI generates your variations, setup is a Chrome extension, and if clicks, sales or conversions haven’t improved in 90 days you get every dollar back.

That last part is the bit I’d weigh most heavily – No other platform on this list refunds you.

Questions worth asking any vendor before you sign

  1. What does it cost at my traffic level? Most price on monthly tracked users or page views. The entry price is often nowhere near what you’ll actually pay.
  2. What happens when I exceed the tier? Some throttle, some bill you, some stop the test.
  3. Can my marketing team run a test without a developer? Ask for a live demo of that specific thing. Every vendor claims no-code. Reviewers of several tools here report needing dev help anyway.
  4. Is the contract annual? Several quote-only platforms are annual commitments, which is a very different risk to a monthly subscription.
  5. What happens if it doesn’t work? Usually the answer is “you keep paying”. Worth asking anyway.

A/B testing platform comparison – FAQs

Why do so many A/B testing platforms hide their pricing?

Because they price on traffic volume, module selection and contract length, so one number would mislead. That’s the honest reason. The commercial reason is that a sales conversation converts better than a pricing page, and it lets them charge different customers different amounts.

What’s a realistic budget for an A/B testing platform in 2026?

Self-serve tools at this tier run $299 to $495 a month. Quote-only mid-market platforms typically land in the low thousands per month. Enterprise contracts run to tens of thousands a year, with AB Tasty averaging around $45,000 annually according to industry data.

Do I need a developer to run A/B tests?

Not for content and layout tests on most modern tools. You will for server-side testing, feature flags, or anything involving a complex single-page app. Reviewers of VWO, Kameleoon and Optimizely all report needing developer help more often than the marketing implies.

How much traffic do I need to run A/B tests?

Roughly 1,000 visitors and 100 conversions per variation before results mean much. Below that, no platform will save you. Our sample size guide covers the maths.

Spiralyze alternatives: CRO agency or software in 2026?

Spiralyze makes an offer that’s hard to argue with. “30% lift in 90 days. No fee until we deliver.” More precisely: 10 tests, 3 wins, more than 30% lift in your first 90 days, and you pay nothing until they’ve done it. I’ll say plainly what most competitor pages wouldn’t. On risk alone, that’s a better offer than […]

AB Tasty alternatives: an honest comparison for 2026

AB Tasty is a strong platform with a well-liked support team, sitting at 4.4 on G2 across 418 reviews. Reviewers on TrustRadius describe it as better value than pricier AB Tasty alternatives, which in this category is a real compliment. It also has the most unusual buying process here. No published pricing, and no free […]

The best Optimizely alternative: a comparison for 2026

Optimizely is the most capable experimentation platform on the market. I don’t think that’s seriously disputed. Server-side testing, feature flags, personalization, statistical depth, and it all runs at genuine enterprise scale. In 2026 they’ve wrapped the whole thing in “agentic experimentation” branding and shipped an AI variation development agent, and the underlying Web Experimentation product […]
